To further understand the students' academic and living situations during the holiday period and to better conduct student affairs in the new semester, our institute convened a symposium for returning students in the new semester on March 1st at noon, in Room 501. The symposium was attended by Li Jianqing, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute; Jin Yao, Secretary of the Youth League Committee; Chen Weilong, the 2022 stident advisor; members of the Youth League Committee Student Union, and representatives from each grade. The meeting was chaired by Huang Zhengyu, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee.

During the symposium, student representatives spoke in turn, sharing their experiences and insights from the winter vacation and offered suggestions for the institute's operations based on their life and study at school. Jin Yao fully recognized the students' thoughts and feelings during the winter break and encouraged everyone to pay more attention to trending social news and to integrate knowledge with action. He acknowledged the work of various departments of the Institute's Youth League and Student Union last semester and outlined plans for the new semester. Chen Weilong encouraged the students to face the new academic year with a fresh outlook, make good personal plans, and balance studies and practice for comprehensive development.

Li Jianqing motivated the Youth League and Student Union cadres to set examples, fully exert their pioneering and exemplary roles, and set forth three expectations for the students: 1) to strictly adhere to school rules and enhance self-protection awareness; 2) to step out of their comfort zones, strengthen their professional foundation, actively participate in various school activities, and achieve comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor aspects; 3) to diligently hone their work skills, improve their overall quality, and strategically plan for the new semester to perform better.
