On June 1st, the 2024 High-Level Forum of the Chinese Historical Materialism Association, along with the academic symposium on "Two Integrations and Historical Materialism," was held at our university. Nearly a hundred scholars from over 80 universities and research institutions across the country, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, National Defense University, Fudan University, Shanghai Normal University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and South China University of Technology, attended the meeting.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Fang Debin, a member of the university's Party Committee and Vice President. On behalf of the university, Bian Jing extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the attending experts and scholars. He emphasized that South-Central University for Nationalities is committed to fostering patriotic and dedicated young people through the guidance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to shape and educate students. Lin Jianhua highlighted that the "Two Integrations" represent the strong confidence of the Chinese Communists in the new era. Xu Wei stated that this high-level forum fully demonstrates the broad theoretical vision and strong sense of responsibility within the academic community. Hou Huiqin stressed that Marxist theory researchers should embody both scholarly and revolutionary qualities. Finally, Li Jianguo, Secretary-General of the Chinese Historical Materialism Association and Director of the Editorial Department of "Marxism Research," delivered a concluding speech. He highly praised the insights and elaborations of the attending experts and scholars, recognized the fruitful outcomes of the forum, and expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants.

It is reported that this conference was co-hosted by the Chinese Historical Materialism Association, the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and our university. It was jointly organized by the Marxism Institute of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and our college, with the Editorial Department of "Marxism Research" providing additional support.
