TheSchoolof Marxism is a teaching unit which teaches ideological and political theory and traines the undergraduate students of ideological and political education major and postgraduates of Marxist theory major and discipline teaching(ideological and theorical education). Its predecessor, the Marxism-Leninism Department, was founded in 1986. In 1999, it formed the Department of Society and Sciencetogether with the Research Institute of Ideology and Morality. In 2006, the college of Ideological and Political Education was established. In 2008, it started to recruit undergraduates and postgraduates. In 2011, it was renamed the School of Marxismand had the discipline master degree on Marxist theory. In 2013, it was awarded as the key discipline among the Marxist theory disciplines in Hubei Province. In 2017, it became one of the prevailing disciplines in our university. In 2018, it was listed as one of the main Marxism Schoolin Hubei Province. Now we have almost 400 present undergraduates and postgraduates.

We insist on the development idea with a combination of thought, discipline and harmony. And the fundamental purpose of college is to cultivate students with morality. We also center on the theory teaching and constuction of discipline master degree. We aim to build more doctoral stations. In order to improve the quality of talents in Marxist theory, we adhere to pay equal attention to teaching and science research as well as to the cultivation of talents and the service in nationality areas. We shall never rest to promote our Marxism School to the National level!
