(By Wang Lu from the School of Economics) In order to deeply understand the social practice of students in winter vacation and test the results of social practice, the School of Economics held the 2022 Winter Vacation Social Practice Defense on the morning of March 5. Professor Xiong Fang, Vice Dean of the School of Economics, was invited to participate in the meeting. Gao Wujin, Secretary of Youth League Committee, and graduate students from various majors of the school acted as the judges. Twenty teams were involved.

The teams conducted their defense in turn by PPT presentation. Among them, the project team of “Digital Economy Empowers Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading: Mechanism and Benefits of Heterogeneous Influence” focused on the current development of China's digital economy, deeply analyzed the difference of the dual marginal impact of digital economy on manufacturing industry from the urban dimension, and deeply explored the impact of digital economy on the dual marginal impact of manufacturing export.

“Let Small Farmers Embrace Big Industries -- Based on the Characteristics of Temporal and Spatial Evolution of Agricultural Producer Services and a Field Survey in Hubei and Jiangxi Province” combined the current situation of agricultural producer services with theories，conducted a detailed study on the temporal and spatial evolution of rural producer services by adopting a variety of samples and types, and provided solutions for the future development of agriculture producer services from four aspects of targeted provision, enhancing domestic demand, stimulating market vitality, and breaking development barriers.

Based on the mechanism and motivation of urban and rural integration, the project team of “Research on Dynamic Mechanism, Level Measurement and Influencing Factors of Urban-rural Integration in Urban Agglomerations of the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River” used the investigation method of empirical research to measure the spatial difference and time evolution, conducted multidimensional analysis of the influencing factors, and put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions.       The judges evaluated the teams' text writing, actual investigation, survey data selection and other parts, and also gave guidance on relevant problems and some aspects that could be improved.

 In the end, Gao Wujin made a summary and fully confirmed the good results of the winter vacation social practice. She praised the students for their actively combining the current events with hot spots，the development of their hometown with their majors in practice,  performing full play to their subjective initiative and creativity, and presenting a wealth of practical achievements. She hoped that students would continue to strengthen the standardization of the text, highlight the content and analysis conclusions of the practical researches, as well as further expand the social impact of practical results.

This winter vacation social practice defense successfully completed the periodic test of the students’ vacation social practice project, fully promoted the transformation and expansion of the students' professional knowledge, and enhanced the students’ ability to use knowledge to solve practical problems. It was good for the students to further understand the realities of country and people, and have a stronger sense of social responsibility and mission.
