(By Gan Jianhui from the School of Economics) In order to enhance the quality of the school’s national project application, on the afternoon of December 7th, the School of Economics held a special tutorial lecture on national project application in Room 801, Building15. The lecture was specially invited by Yan Lidong, Level-2 Professor and Doctoral Tutor of Zhongnan University of Economics and L aw. Some teachers and students of the School were present. The lecture was presided over by Li Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Economics.

Yan Lidong mainly explained the applying procedure, selecting research subject, setting up research team and demonstrating research when applying for the national project. He took his personal experience as an example to encourage everyone to build up confidence, persist in applying, pay attention to the method of the application, bravely go out to exchange，learn from other’s strengths and offset our own weakness, study advanced methods and ideas, adjust and improve our own research ideas, and strive to enter the academic circle. Some important issues about project application writing were emphasized. He pointed it out that we need to pay much attention to selecting subject and research methods, while choosing research direction. We should not only shoulder the mission of the Times, but also do the research good for social development. After selecting the research subject, we should take the research seriously and demonstrate it carefully, enhance its scientific nature and credibility so as to improve the success rate of the project application. In the end of the lecture, Prof. Yan also provided on-site guidance of some project applications as examples. He reviewed them carefully, seriously pointed out the problems and then put forward to suggestions for revision. The teachers and students were motivated by Pro. Yan and his lecture. They communicated with Pro. Yan actively, asking questions and studying hard in a friendly atmosphere.

This lecture deeply explained the method and process of a national project application, enhanced the enthusiasm and confidence of teachers of the School who were applying for or going to apply for national projects, provided strong support of scientific research project application for the School, and actively promoted the School’s development of academic research.
