From May 17 to 19, Vice President of SCMU Fang Debin led a team to Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province to enhance alumni engagement, expand job opportunities, and promote university-enterprise cooperation. Accompanying Fang were representatives from the University’s Science and Technology Development Institute and the School of Economics.
In Guangzhou, Fang and his team visited the Guangzhou Development Energy Logistics Group, where alumnus Fan Ruibin from the class of '94. They engaged in comprehensive discussions on research and university-enterprise collaboration. Following this, they held a meeting with Secretary-General Huang Gang of the Guangdong Alumni Association, along with alumni representatives from various graduating classes, including Huang Runyong ('81), Mu Lin ('82), Ma Kui ('84), and Zhang Chi ('03). Fang introduced the current state of the university, conveyed the school’s best wishes, and discussed future collaboration.

In Shenzhen, the team participated in the 18th anniversary celebration of the Shenzhen Alumni Association. They joined over 100 alumni, including former association leaders Mo Zushen, Hong Yu, and Hu Yu, in reminiscing about the association’s history and envisioning its future. In his speech, Fang expressed gratitude on behalf of the university’s administration for the long-term support from alumni in Guangdong. He encouraged alumni to provide feedback and suggestions to help the university better support their development and enhance services. Fang emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with alumni enterprises in talent cultivation, professional development, scientific research, social services, and talent acquisition. He highlighted the need for precise alignment to establish a coordinated employment promotion channel, thereby creating a comprehensive employment and education framework. The team also visited the Guangdong Zhuojian Law Firm, where they discussed deepening university-enterprise cooperation and reforming talent cultivation mechanisms with alumnus Tang Yangxin and others. Additionally, faculty members from the School of Economics visited the Shenzhen Talent Service Center and held recruitment talks with related enterprises.

In Dongguan, accompanied by the university’s recruitment office head, Fang’s team attended a talent supply and demand cooperation meeting. They visited Together E-commerce Co., Ltd., which has 4,000 member enterprises engaged in cross-border trade. They witnessed the signing of a talent supply and demand cooperation agreement between the School of Economics and the company and submitted some graduates’ resumes.
