Pharmacy
The students for this program will learn the fundamental knowledge, theories and skills in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, and medical science as well as some professional courses about modern medicine and minority medicine. The program aims to train advanced professional well-rounded talents who have solid basic knowledge and a wide range of professional knowledge; who can engage in the analysis of chemicals, traditional Chinese medicine, natural medicine (including minority medicine) and biological medicine, and clinical rational medication, medicine production and administration, medicine marketing, and the research and development of new medicine. The graduates can manage medical research and development, production, inspection, management and marketing in various kinds of medical research and development units, medical universities, medical producing and trading enterprises, hospitals, drug control institutes, pharmacy administration and pharmaceutical information units. This is a four-year undergraduate program which recruits science students.
Pharmaceutical Science
The Pharmaceutics major aims to cultivate innovative, application-oriented and inter-disciplinary talents who meet the economic and social development needs of the country, region, and ethnic minority areas, possess a sense of Chinese national community, a sense of social responsibility, innovative spirit, and practical ability. The curriculum for Pharmaceutic program includes the basic theories, basic knowledge and basic skills of pharmacy, chemistry, biology, medicine and other relative subjects. Students are required to master the professional knowledge of basic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical engineering principles, pharmaceutical engineering, polymers in pharmaceutics, physical pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacology, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics knowledge. This program aims to cultivate academic talents in the design and development of pharmaceutical dosage forms and preparations, pharmaceutical engineering, new medicine research and development, medicine production and quality analysis, medicine inspection, etc. Graduates can be engaged in the design, research, development, preparation, production and quality control of pharmaceutical preparations in various pharmaceutical research and development units, pharmaceutical colleges and universities, pharmaceutical production and commercial enterprises, hospitals, pharmaceutical management and inspection departments;they can also engage in the technical work in the field of cosmetics, food, health care products or other chemical products. This is a four-year undergraduate program which recruits science students. If they meet the requirements for degree granting upon graduation, they will be awarded a bachelor's degree of science.
Chemical Biology
Chemical biology is an emerging secondary discipline which combine with chemistry and biology. It has become an important driving force for the development of life medicine science in the future. Chemical biology is an experimental-based major in School of Pharmaceutical Science, which explores the top talent training model with the "one system and three features" (tutorial system, small class, personalized, international). The major trains students to master the basic theoretical knowledge and experimental skills of chemistry, biology and pharmacy, and fully grasp the cross-disciplinary knowledge of modern molecular science, frontier life science and traditional ethnic medicine science. At the same time, students are required to have a good humanistic quality, a strong sense of social responsibility and a broad international vision. Graduates of this major have the advantages of engaging in teaching or scientific research in multi-disciplinary fields such as chemistry, biology and pharmacy, and can also engage in technology research and development and management in relevant enterprises and institutions such as modern biomedicine, biological key technology, green food chemical industry, and government health departments. Undergraduate course, length of schooling is 4 years. This major recruit science students, the degree of bachelor of science is awarded if they meet the requirements for degree awarding.
Pharmaceutical Analysis
Pharmaceutical analysis is a characteristic interdisciplinary subject which focuses on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of medicines, quality control and development of new medicines by comprehensively utilizing the methodologies and techniques in chemistry, pharmacy, physics, biology, etc. The students in this program study the basic knowledge, basic theory and basic skills of pharmacy, chemistry, biology, medicine, statistical analysis and information science and related disciplines. This science aims to cultivate advanced talents of applied scientific technology who can systematically master the basic theories, knowledge and experimental skills in pharmaceutical analysis. It trains the students’ abilities in the chemical pharmaceutical preparation, quality inspection of Chinese medicine (minority medicine) and its pharmaceutical preparation, and pharmaceutical quality monitoring. The graduates can manage the technical work of medicine inspection, medicine administration, new medicine research and development, medicine production and management, clinical rational medication in pharmaceutical enterprises, pharmaceutical import and export corporations, medicine inspection departments, pharmaceutical trading companies, hospital pharmacies or other pharmaceutical enterprises or public institutes; they can also engage in the technical work of equality inspection in food, health care products, cosmetics, or other chemical products. Bachelor’s degree, four years' schooling, enrolling science students. If they meet the requirements for the degree granting upon graduation, they will be awarded a bachelor's degree of science.
